The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and no one wants to spend another minute indoors  — which means that the ideal way to get from point A to point B this time of year is via convertible. We caught up with native Chicagoan Victoria Elliott, who rents her 2012 Volkswagen EOS hard-top convertible on Turo, to find out why she loves both driving and renting her convertible.

Meet Victoria’s convertible

Victoria inherited the sleek red convertible from her father after he passed away last year, and discovered Turo while investigating options for the car. In deciding to list the car on Turo, she explains, “I really wanted to keep [the car, but] we already have a car and keeping the Volkswagen EOS is a total indulgence. Renting out the car makes it an affordable indulgence.”

The eye-catching ride has attracted the attention of everyone from locals looking to add an extra special touch to a date night all the way to a local politician who will be renting the car to cruise through Chicago’s pride parade at the end of the month.

What does Victoria love about getting in the driver’s seat herself? “I love the wind on my skin and rushing through my hair. It has heated seats and a great heating system, so as long as it’s above 32 degrees, it’s wonderful to drive with the top down. The stereo is also fabulous.”
