Nothin’ but net

The Turo community of owners is chock-full of clever people with cool cars.

To celebrate our intrepid hosts and get into the spirit of competition this March, we’ve pulled some top listings in various categories to go head-to-head for a coveted spot in the Turo Listing Hall of Fame. Our community has voted for round one and will be voting for the victors via email, so tune in over the next couple weeks as we announce the winners of each category.

Don’t get our emails? Don’t worry, we can fix that. Simply sign up for Turo, go to your account page, and check the box under “Email notifications”.

Good luck to all our contestants, may the odds be forever in your favor.

Round one: Most imaginative description

These contestants are veritable lyrical gangsters, bringing art and poetry to car rentals across the United States. From comparing the ‘96 Accord to wild horses in New Mexico to rhapsodizing about a particularly saucy and temperamental middle-aged Fiat, these are some resident Hemingways of the Turo marketplace.

And the winner is…

KEVIN’S PORSCHE 911

“This 2012 911 Carrera 4GTS is something very, very special. It will make your days seem effortless, your worries seem pedestrian, and your kids seem more obedient. You might be at a restaurant and have a server spill hot soup on you. ‘No bother, Blake,’ you’ll say, ‘I just rented a 911 Carrera 4GTS.’”

San Francisco, CA

And a tip of the hat to the runners up:

KIRK’S HONDA ACCORD

“Ah, the 1996 Honda Accord. What more is there really to say? You will have no problem blending in with this car, because they sold like a million of these things and they’re all still out there running like stallions through a New Mexican river.”

Minneapolis, MN

RODRIGO’S FIAT SPIDER

“Gioia is seductive and charming, but make no mistake about her, as a middle-aged Italian lady born in 1973, Gioia is temperamental and prefers to take her time. With a voluptuous 52 HP engine in her rear end, she will make her sweet voice heard not so subtlety from the back.”

Bethesda, MD
